Weekly Thrift Feed: A Bit of Holiday
This week's happy find was a plethora of vintage elf-type ornaments. Most were made in Japan or Hong Kong. I love their happy, kitschy faces.
The ones in the very center remind me of Willy Wonka's Oompa Loompas. The taller one has very creepy eyes! The Crochett and Tiny Tim ornament says it is a Kurt S. Adler ornament.
This mouse is my very favorite of the bunch. I have such a weakness for vintage animal kitsch. Plans for her involve a re-purposed Wreath O' Kitsch. I love her big head and beady, black eyes and think she should be front and center this holiday season!
What did you find this week? Check out more thrift porn here and here...it will make you drool!

I agree- I love the mouse! I'm always searching for animal-themed things at the thrifts!!
Very nice vintage finds. Yes, felt or felt dressed ornaments were all the rage back in the 60s, along with flocking.
I do agree, the one "gothic" eyed elf is a bit creepy.
Gina these Chrissy decs are so cute, they remind me of my childhood but are quite tricky to find here.
I love the kitschy wreath idea x
I agree the mouse is super sweet!

Thanks for all your great comments! :)
OMG- thrift porn- I love it!! What a great stash- I haven't been too lucky with vintage Christmas at my thrifts, lately...
And I saw your newer post about cutting down the thrifting. Last year I gave up thrifting for Lent (really!). It was hard, but my house was a lot less cluttered as a result!!
Giving it up for Lent would definitely be a challenge! ;)
